Social media is part of today’s life. At least one of our presenters at the 2026 annual conference encouraged us to meet people where they are. And filing parties, attorneys, other courts, and the next generation of our workforce are on social media. Among today’s options, LinkedIn still leans professional, making it the ideal online marketplace for sharing events and ideas.
Helping NCACC establish and grow its LinkedIn presence can result in gaining new members, capturing the attention of potential NCACC conference plenary speakers, and bringing light and transparency to our association. It’s unlikely that NCACC will gain the millions of followers that others with huge marketing budgets and catchy topics have accumulated, but that’s not the goal. The goals are to inform, attract, educate, and support.
If you have a LinkedIn account, even one you don’t use often, follow the NCACC account by searching for “National Conference of Appellate Court Clerks” and clicking “Follow” on the account’s main page. When NCACC content is posted, your adding comments or reactions boosts the association’s profile with the great unknown LinkedIn algorithm. For our purposes, it’s enough to know that more interaction with the NCACC account translates to better odds of gaining members and attracting high-quality conference presenters and future coworkers.
Don’t have a LinkedIn account? If your court’s ethics code allows, you can create one at https://www.linkedin.com/. Basic accounts are free. After your account is established, use the search-and-follow steps above and the NCACC’s posts should appear in your account’s news feed or in the “Notifications” section of LinkedIn. This approach works for finding and following individuals and other entities as well. It’s usually as easy as searching for a name. Don’t know who or what to follow? The great unknown LinkedIn algorithm will give you suggestions.
LinkedIn is a great place to recognize our members’ accomplishments. We have award winners, NCSC Fellows and their final projects, members who get promoted or appointed to new adventures, and other events and achievements. The world can always use good news.
If you post or see content that NCACC’s members might be interested in, you can “tag” the NCACC account by reposting or commenting. Just start a post or open a comment field, type the “@” symbol with no space before it, followed immediately by the NCACC’s (or any individual’s) full name, as all one word anywhere within your message, then select the correct profile from the dropdown that appears. From there, our members can like or repost the message or just enjoy the good news – low investment, high return. See you online!
