Paul Tuttle, Clerk, Massachusetts Appeals Court

Paul Tuttle was appointed clerk of the Massachusetts Appeals Court in June 2024.  He was first appointed as an assistant clerk there in 2013.  As an assistant clerk, Paul focused on increasing access to appellate justice, especially for an increasing number of self-represented litigants.   After graduating from Boston University School of Law, Paul was engaged in a general civil litigation practice and joined state service as an assistant general counsel for a state administrative agency.

Paul lives with his wife and three children (6-, 9-, and 12-years old).  He is an ardent sports fan and enjoys coaching his children’s basketball teams.  Upon realizing that he was too old and too fragile to continue to play rugby, he recently took up golf.
